Q Acoustics has unveiled its latest addition to the home audio market with the introduction of the Q SUB series, comprising the Q SUB80, Q SUB100, and Q SUB120 subwoofers. Designed to enhance both home cinema and stereo systems, each model features a sealed enclosure that ensures tight and accurate bass reproduction. The numerical designation in each model name corresponds to the driver's diameter in inches, offering options that cater to different room sizes and audio preferences. Deliveries for the new subwoofers are scheduled to begin in March.
Crafted with a minimalist aesthetic, the Q SUB series cabinets are available in satin black and white finishes, blending seamlessly into modern living spaces without drawing unnecessary attention. The enclosures are constructed from 18mm thick MDF panels, with the front baffle measuring an impressive 36mm. This robust build not only minimizes vibrations and unwanted resonance but also provides a stable platform for the subwoofer’s components. The smallest unit, the Q SUB80, weighs 15 kilograms and is equipped with a 200W amplifier, delivering frequencies down to 36 Hz. The Q SUB100 and Q SUB120 models offer increased power and lower frequency responses, reaching 32 Hz and 28 Hz respectively.
Integral to the performance of the Q SUB series is the built-in Digital Signal Processing (DSP), which optimizes the subwoofer’s output to match the acoustics of the listening environment. This intelligent technology allows for precise adjustments of the crossover frequency and phase alignment, ensuring seamless integration with existing audio systems. Additionally, the 12 Volt trigger input facilitates synchronized power control with other components of a home theater setup, enhancing both convenience and system coherence.
Performance-wise, the Q SUB120 stands out with a 12-inch driver, delivering 300W of continuous power and handling peak loads up to 600W while maintaining a distortion level below 0.1%. Retail prices for the Q SUB series are set at €749 for the Q SUB80, €875 for the Q SUB100, and €999 for the Q SUB120.
