Scansonic HD Launches M Series Speaker Innovations with M15.2, M20.2, and M30.2 Models

14 March 2025 by Mike Danyk

Scansonic HD has unveiled its latest addition to the M series, expanding the lineup with the M15.2 bookshelf model and the M20.2 and M30.2 floor-standing speakers. These new models integrate passive radiators on the rear panels, a design choice that promises enhanced bass response without the typical noise associated with ported configurations. The option to cover both the front and rear panels with protective grilles adds a practical touch, ensuring durability without compromising sound quality.

Central to the series are the ribbon tweeters, which deliver swift and precise high-frequency transitions thanks to their low-mass diaphragms. This results in exceptional detail reproduction, a sense of airiness, and immediate impulse response. Coupled with low distortion and high clarity at all volume levels, these tweeters form the cornerstone of the M series' musical signature. The midrange drivers utilize a specially designed diffuser that balances strength, rigidity, and elasticity, ensuring seamless integration with the lower frequencies and maintaining stability across the audible spectrum.

Scansonic HD has meticulously engineered the crossovers within the M series, employing premium capacitors, coils, and resistors typically found in higher-end models. This meticulous attention to component quality minimizes signal loss, enhances phase coherence, and delivers outstanding transparency and balanced sound reproduction. The combination of active ribbon tweeters and passive radiators allows for a controlled and powerful bass output, providing depth and expansiveness previously unseen in this price range.

The M15.2 measures 241 x 355 x 322 mm and weighs 9.75 kg per unit, priced at 1,500 euros per pair. The M20.2 stands at 241 x 936 x 372 mm with a weight of 22.1 kg per pair, available for 2,600 euros. The flagship M30.2, measuring 241 x 1086 x 372 mm and weighing slightly more, is priced at 3,500 euros per pair. All models are offered in sleek black and white satin finishes, catering to diverse aesthetic preferences. These speakers are set to hit the global market in April 2025, promising audiophiles a blend of Danish design, advanced technical solutions, and accessible pricing.
