Sheena Easton fans will soon have the opportunity to own a comprehensive collection with the release of Modern Girl: The Complete EMI Recordings, Vol 1. This 5CD box set, a collaboration between Cherry Red and RT Industries, encompasses Easton’s first five studio albums: Take My Time (1981), You Could Have Been With Me (1981), Madness, Money And Music (1982), Best Kept Secret (1983), and the Spanish-language Todo Me Recuerda a Ti (1984). Each album is meticulously remastered, ensuring high-fidelity sound quality that audiophiles will appreciate.

In addition to the original tracks, the box set is enhanced with 25 previously unreleased cuts, including early and alternate versions of classics like “For Your Eyes Only”. Notably, it features the first-ever audio release of cover versions from Easton’s 1983 Emmy-winning TV special, Act One. This inclusion provides a rare glimpse into her versatile vocal performances and expands the collection’s appeal to dedicated listeners.

The packaging is designed with attention to detail, featuring a robust clamshell case that houses all five discs securely. Accompanying the music is a 48-page booklet containing new interviews with influential songwriters and producers such as Christopher Neil, Jay Graydon, and Greg Mathieson. An introductory note penned by Sheena Easton herself offers personal insights into her artistic journey, further enriching the collector’s experience.

Set to be released on May 23, 2025, Modern Girl: The Complete EMI Recordings, Vol 1 will be available through Cherry Red, with competitive pricing on Amazon UK at the time of writing. This box set not only serves as a definitive archive of Sheena Easton’s early career but also stands as a testament to her enduring legacy in the music industry.
