Compact design with hand-sanded wooden enclosure and elegant matte finish.
Sonoro has unveiled the Orchestra Slim Gen. 2, marking the latest evolution in their esteemed speaker lineup since 2006. Crafted in the heart of Niederrhein, Germany, this compact 2-way bass reflex speaker builds upon its predecessor with notable enhancements tailored for smaller spaces. The design maintains the integrity of the larger Orchestra model, featuring an Air Motion Transformer with a Neodym magnet for crisp high frequencies and a newly developed 13 cm deep midbass driver for robust low-end performance.
A significant upgrade in the Gen. 2 version is the introduction of a kevlar-reinforced composite diaphragm, combining paper and bamboo. This advanced material offers exceptional rigidity, resulting in deeper, more powerful bass without compromising clarity. Additionally, the Orchestra Slim Gen. 2 includes adjustable bass reflex ports, allowing listeners to fine-tune the low frequencies to their personal preference using the provided foam plugs. This flexibility ensures optimal sound reproduction tailored to various room acoustics.
From a technical standpoint, the Orchestra Slim Gen. 2 boasts an impedance of 4 Ohms and a sensitivity of 86 dB SPL (2.83 V/1m), with a frequency response spanning 42 Hz to 32 kHz at -6 dB. The crossover frequency is strategically set at 2,800 Hz, ensuring seamless integration between the high and low-frequency drivers. These speakers are recommended for amplification with at least 50 watts, making them a versatile addition to a wide range of HiFi setups.
Aesthetically, the speakers feature a hand-sanded wooden enclosure with a matte finish available in black or white/silver, measuring compactly at 180 x 260 x 326 mm and weighing approximately 6.9 kg each. The elegant design includes rounded corners and aluminum accents, allowing the Orchestra Slim Gen. 2 to blend effortlessly into modern living environments. Their compatibility with the Sonoro Maestro Smart HiFi receivers, as well as other high-quality amplifiers, underscores their versatility and ease of integration.
Priced at €999 per pair, the Orchestra Slim Gen. 2 is available through authorized Sonoro retailers and the company’s online store. Enthusiasts eager to experience the new speakers firsthand can visit Sonoro’s exhibit at High End 2025 in Munich from May 15 to 18, located in Atrium 4.1, Room F110. With its combination of refined engineering and sophisticated design, the Orchestra Slim Gen. 2 stands out as a compelling choice for audiophiles seeking high-performance speakers tailored to compact living spaces.
