Voice of the Beehive’s 'Honey Lingers' Remastered Release on Pink Vinyl & Double-CD Deluxe – Out 4 April 2025

17 February 2025 by Mike Danyk

Voice of the Beehive’s 1991 record “Honey Lingers” returns in a newly remastered edition, preserving the jangly guitars and melodic pop hooks that elevated the band into the Top 20. This release packs a spirited punch, carrying over the energetic vibe that once led to three UK Top 40 singles, including the Don Was-produced cover of “I Think I Love You” and the fan-favorite “Monsters and Angels.”

Some regard “Honey Lingers” as a significant evolution from the earlier “Let It Bee,” capturing a whirlwind of moods and experiences. This edition distills that essence while highlighting key production talents like Don Was, Hugh Jones, and Alan Tarney. The reissue is pressed on pink vinyl and expanded into a 2CD deluxe format, which totals 39 tracks and introduces 19 previously unreleased recordings. Among these are alternate versions, long-sought B-sides, and a collaborative take on “Gimme Shelter” with Jimmy Somerville.

Attentive ears can expect everything from acoustic adaptations to live performances recorded at Kentish Town and Country Club. The setlist offers a fascinating exploration of how the group’s sound was reshaped for radio and different markets, making the treasure trove of bonus tracks a compelling piece of the band’s lineage.

“Honey Lingers” is slated for release on 4 April 2025 via London Records. Both the double-CD package and the pink vinyl edition include extensive material celebrating the music’s charm, while a bonus five-track CD brings further unreleased gems to light.
