The Onkyo A-8300 is an integrated amplifier model from Onkyo, introduced in the years 1984/85. It is available in both black and silver finishes. The amplifier does not include a remote control and has a power consumption of 320 watts. Its dimensions are 435 mm in width, 122 mm in height, and 392 mm in depth, with a weight of 11.8 kg. The A-8300 features a total of seven inputs, including two for phono, and additional inputs for tuner, CD, aux, and two tape connections. There are four outputs available: a headphone jack (6.3mm), two tape rec outs, and a pre-out for two loudspeakers. The amplifier delivers robust music power with 240 watts per channel into 4 ohms, and 150 watts into 8 ohms, measured at 1 kHz. Sine power ratings indicate performance of 170 watts at 4 ohms and 120 watts at 8 ohms. The amplifier provides a minimum RMS power of 100 watts per channel into 8 ohms across a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz, while maintaining a total harmonic distortion of no more than 0.012%. Other specifications include a frequency response of 2 - 50,000 Hz ±1dB and a damping factor of 50 at 8 ohms. The A-8300 features various tone control options with adjustable bass and treble up to ±8dB, along with a loudness function, subsonic filter, and mute function. Signal-to-noise ratios are rated at 80dB for phono (MM) and 84dB for CD, tuner, and tape inputs.
