Castle Loudspeakers returns with the handcrafted Windsor Series featuring British craftsmanship and warm, natural sound.
The Windsor Duke and Earl models prioritize substance with woven polypropylene woofers and real wood veneer cabinets.
Bespoke high-carbon steel stands enhance stability, imaging, and tonal balance for both models.
Castle Loudspeakers has made a triumphant return to the high-fidelity scene, partnering with MoFi Distribution to introduce the new Windsor Series. This collaboration marks a significant moment for enthusiasts who value meticulous British craftsmanship and a warm, natural sound signature that Castle has been renowned for since 1973. The Windsor Series features two handcrafted bookshelf models, the Windsor Duke and Windsor Earl, each built in the UK with an emphasis on substance over flash.
The Windsor Duke stands out with its robust 8” woofer and a custom 28mm textile dome tweeter, both engineered to deliver precise and impactful sound. Utilizing cast alloy components, woven polypropylene cones, and glass-fiber voice coils, the Duke ensures durability and high performance without compromising the classic Castle character. The cabinets are adorned with real wood veneers, meticulously selected and book-matched to provide an acoustically optimized enclosure that ages gracefully.
Complementing the Duke, the Windsor Earl offers a slightly smaller footprint with a 6” woven polypropylene woofer and the same high-quality 28mm textile dome tweeter. This model maintains the series' commitment to detail, featuring dual-layer MDF panels bonded with flexible acoustic glue and strategic point-to-point bracing. The result is a controlled cabinet that minimizes resonance and vibrations, allowing the music to speak with clarity and depth.
Both models come with bespoke stands engineered from high-carbon British steel, ensuring optimal stability and resonance control. These stands are designed to perfectly match the speakers, enhancing imaging and tonal balance while protecting floors with weighted plates and stainless-steel spikes. The Windsor Series also incorporates a 4th order Linkwitz-Riley crossover, utilizing air core inductors to maintain signal integrity and achieve a flat frequency response with low distortion.
The return of Castle Loudspeakers through the Windsor Series offers audiophiles a blend of timeless British design and modern acoustic engineering. With their emphasis on real materials, precision craftsmanship, and technical excellence, the Windsor Duke and Earl are poised to make a significant impact in the high-end audio market.
