At High End Munich 2025, Swedish loudspeaker manufacturer Marten introduced two exceptional additions to their esteemed Coltrane series: the Coltrane Supreme Extreme and the Coltrane Quintet Extreme. These models represent the pinnacle of Marten’s engineering and craftsmanship, meticulously designed for audiophiles seeking unparalleled sound quality.
The Coltrane Supreme Extreme stands as Marten’s most ambitious loudspeaker to date. Featuring a dual floorstanding enclosure, it is equipped with a 1-inch pure diamond tweeter, a 3-inch pure diamond high-midrange, and the largest 7-inch pure beryllium midrange driver ever created. Complemented by four 8-inch Crystalid mid-bass drivers and five 10-inch aluminum sandwich bass drivers with ten passive radiators, the Supreme Extreme delivers extraordinary resolution and dynamic range. The carbon fiber monocoque enclosure, reinforced with solid wood and aluminum, ensures superior rigidity and resonance control. Each pair undergoes over 800 hours of hand-assembly in Sweden, incorporating Jorma Paragon cabling and bespoke Marten terminals to maintain signal purity. Priced at €950,000 per pair, the Supreme Extreme is a testament to Marten’s dedication to audio excellence.
Complementing the Supreme Extreme, the Coltrane Quintet Extreme offers a more compact yet equally impressive four-way configuration. Limited to only ten pairs worldwide and finished in exclusive Piano Oak Green, the Quintet Extreme features the same high-quality drivers, including the 1-inch and 3-inch pure diamond tweeters and the 7-inch pure beryllium midrange. Its carbon fiber laminate cabinet with a sandwich panel of aluminum, fiberboard, and solid wood minimizes resonance while preserving time and phase accuracy. The precision first-order crossover and Jorma Paragon cabling ensure a natural and coherent sound across the entire audio spectrum. Weighing 115 kilograms and measuring 52.5 x 127.9 x 78.8 centimeters, the Quintet Extreme delivers fast, controlled bass and lifelike dynamics, making it a rare collector’s item at €360,000 per pair.
Marten’s commitment to sonic purity and technical innovation is evident in both models. The use of advanced materials such as beryllium and diamond drivers, combined with carbon fiber construction and Marten isolators, provides exceptional clarity and depth. The proprietary first-order crossover ensures perfect time and phase coherence, resulting in a seamless and immersive listening experience. These loudspeakers not only showcase Marten’s expertise in audio engineering but also their dedication to delivering products that meet the highest standards of audiophile performance.
The unveiling of the Coltrane Supreme Extreme and Quintet Extreme solidifies Marten’s position as a leader in ultra-high-end audio. Crafted with precision in their Swedish factory, these models offer a blend of technical brilliance and artistic design, catering to the most discerning listeners. As Marten continues to push the boundaries of audio technology, these new additions to the Coltrane series promise to redefine the standards of high-fidelity sound.
