RIME enables immersive audio, including Dolby Atmos 7.1.4, through NDH 20 and NDH 30 headphones.
Tailored for Neumann gear, it mimics the sound of KH series monitors with studio precision.
Offers externalized stereo playback, simulating real studio monitor experience on headphones.
Neumann just dropped a new piece of software called RIME (Reference Immersive Monitoring Environment), and it's pretty exciting news for anyone using their NDH 20 and NDH 30 headphones. Imagine being able to experience immersive audio formats like Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 right through your headphones—that's what RIME is bringing to the table with the help of AMBEO technology.
Here's where it gets cool: RIME isn't just another generic solution. It's specifically tailored for Neumann's gear, incorporating the full signal chain of KH series monitors. They recorded these monitors using the MA 1 measurement microphone in a specialized control room and captured everything through the USB audio interface. The result? Your headphones can now mimic the sound of a professional studio monitor setup with impressive precision.
But it doesn't stop there. RIME also lets you externalize stereo playback, so your headphones give you that feel of real studio monitors. For those of us who don't have space (or budget) for a full-blown monitor setup, this is a pretty big deal.
Neumann is also showcasing the MT 48's mobile recording capabilities. Since it's class-compliant, you can hook it up to an iPad or iPhone and record high-quality audio on the go. Plus, if you've got a USB power bank with at least 25W, you can power it anywhere.
With these new offerings, Neumann seems to be pushing the envelope, giving us more tools to produce and enjoy high-quality audio wherever we are.
