Pier Audio has unveiled the MS-1000 SE, a standout hybrid integrated amplifier that marries tube-based preamplification with a robust transistor power stage. This French-engineered model delivers 20 watts per channel in Class A mode, ensuring a warm and detailed sound signature. When more power is required, the amplifier seamlessly switches to Class AB operation, offering 150 watts per channel at 8Ω and an impressive 300 watts at 4Ω, catering to a wide range of speaker sensitivities.
A key feature of the MS-1000 SE is its sophisticated tube rectifier in the input stage, utilizing double 6Z4 or 6U4 diodes to enhance audio purity. The front panel showcases a glass window revealing the 6N11 vacuum tubes, which glow amber when in operation, adding both aesthetic appeal and functional insight into the amplifier’s performance. A centrally placed VU meter provides real-time signal level monitoring, allowing audiophiles to keep track of their audio signal with ease.
