Sonos continues its efforts to enhance the performance and functionality of its app, addressing issues that emerged since the problematic 2024 update. Nick Millington, the Chief Innovation Officer, outlined the company's ongoing commitment to resolving both major and minor user concerns. Despite recent improvements, significant work remains to fully stabilize the app.
The latest update, released on March 4, introduced several key enhancements. Users can now snooze alarms directly within the app, and the System Settings interface has been revamped to make essential options more accessible. Performance optimizations have been made to search functionalities and volume sliders, ensuring smoother interactions. Additionally, portable speakers like Roam and Move benefit from improved control features, including the ability to wake idle devices and display battery life indicators. Error messages have been made more specific, reducing vague notifications and minimizing the need for frequent reauthorizations with music services.
