French high-end audio manufacturer Totaldac has unveiled the latest addition to their esteemed lineup: the d1-total, an external DAC integrated with a network streamer. This flagship device encapsulates Totaldac's commitment to excellence, merging advanced digital-to-analog conversion with robust streaming capabilities within a single, meticulously crafted enclosure.
At the heart of the d1-total lies the d1-triunity DAC, featuring volume control and utilizing R2R technology with 300 Bulk Metal® foil resistors from Vishay, ensuring unparalleled audio fidelity. The streaming module, the latest iteration developed for the d1-streamer-live, supports high-resolution formats up to 192 kHz and 24-bit depth. Enhanced by 40 femtosecond oscillators, high-performance digital buffers, and superior power supply decoupling, the d1-total delivers a pristine and stable signal path.
Connectivity options are comprehensive, including asynchronous Xmos USB, coaxial RCA, AES-EBU, optical Toslink, and an Ethernet RJ45 port, all selectable via remote control. The device also supports DSD through DoP on coaxial, AES-EBU, and USB inputs. Analog outputs are available in both non-symmetrical RCA and balanced XLR configurations, driven by a class A discrete transistor output stage for pure sound reproduction.
Constructed from aluminum and PMMA, the d1-total features a massive pure copper anti-vibration plate, minimizing external disturbances and ensuring a clean audio signal.
