Totem Acoustic has unveiled the Tribe Tower Thunderbird, a groundbreaking addition to their floorstanding speaker lineup. This model showcases a harmonious blend of exceptional audio performance and elegant design, setting a new benchmark for high-fidelity speakers. With its striking obelisk-like form, the Thunderbird seamlessly integrates into various living spaces while delivering an immersive listening experience.
At the core of the Tribe Tower Thunderbird are the newly engineered 6-inch Torrent drivers, developed over three years to optimize performance within the Thunderbird’s unique enclosure. These drivers feature a multi-layer voice coil, enhanced magnet strength, and refined geometry, enabling lifelike bass reproduction starting at 28Hz. Complementing the mid-bass drivers is Totem’s patented 1.3-inch graphene dome tweeter, which ensures crystal clear highs without the need for a crossover, enhancing phase accuracy and overall sound clarity.
Technically, the Thunderbird boasts a dual-driver, crossover-less configuration that covers a frequency response range of 28.5 Hz to 29 kHz (+/- 3 dB). The use of a Borosilicate cabinet dampening system minimizes energy dissipation while maintaining cabinet liveliness, resulting in a dynamic and detailed soundstage. The monocoque cabinetry with no parallel surfaces provides a rigid and inert enclosure, further contributing to the speaker’s exceptional acoustic performance across various room sizes and layouts.
Available in four sophisticated finishes—Satin White, Satin Black, Premium Dusk (glossy black), and Premium Ice (glossy white)—the Tribe Tower Thunderbird is priced at $13,500 USD per pair, with an additional $1,500 USD for the premium high gloss finish. Matching magnetic grills are included, ensuring both aesthetic appeal and ease of integration. The speakers are set to make their North American debut at the upcoming AXPONA show in Chicago from April 11 to 13, where audiophiles will have the opportunity to experience their advanced sound capabilities firsthand.
