AVID HiFi is a British manufacturer of high-end analog audio equipment founded in 1995 by Conrad Mas. The company originated from Mas's teenage obsession to create a 'genuinely flawless turntable' after being shown a homemade turntable in 1977. Starting in a quarter of Mas's garage in Flitwick, Bedfordshire, AVID has grown to become one of the premier Hi-Fi manufacturers globally, operating from two factories near Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. The company specializes in turntables, tonearms, cartridges, phono stages, amplifiers, loudspeakers, and accessories, with products distributed in approximately 50 countries. AVID's unique approach focuses on eliminating vibration through innovative engineering, including their patented 'energy transmission' technology that mechanically grounds records to the center spindle. The company celebrated 30 years of British manufacturing in 2025, recently launching the Relveo turntable (£6,900) - their first all-new turntable in 12 years. All products are handmade in England using state-of-the-art CNC machinery.
