The Infinity Kappa 8 A is a floor-standing loudspeaker model that was introduced in 1987. It features a multi-driver configuration designed to provide a balanced audio experience across a wide frequency range. Its dimensions are 120 cm in height, 51 cm in width, and 20 cm in depth. The speaker utilizes a 30 cm woofer for low frequencies, a Kappa-Polygraph driver for midrange, and a Kappa-Polydome for higher midrange frequencies. For high frequencies, it is equipped with two EMIT (Electrostatic Mirror Imaging Tweeter) drivers, with one situated on the back of the speaker for enhanced soundstage and imaging. The speaker is capable of handling amplifiers rated between 50 to 250 watts per channel, providing versatility in pairing with various amplifiers. The frequency response ranges from 33 Hz on the low end up to 45 kHz on the high end, allowing for deep bass as well as extended high frequencies. The crossover frequencies are set at 90 Hz, 700 Hz, and 5000 Hz, enabling precise tuning of the speaker's performance across different audio ranges. The suggested retail price for a pair at launch was $1998.
