The Kenwood DP-8020 is a CD player that was manufactured between 1990 and 1992 in Japan. It features a sleek black design and includes a remote control (model RC-P 8020). With a power consumption of 25 watts, the DP-8020 is built with dimensions of 440 x 132 x 381 mm and weighs 10.1 kg. This model offers a total of five outputs: two analog outputs (Cinch) with a level of 0-2V at 0.3 kOhm, one digital coaxial output and one optical output, with specific signals and characteristics. The audio performance is enhanced by a 22-bit MMB digital-to-analog converter implemented with four Burr Brown PCM1702 chips (20-bit each per channel), and oversampling rates of 32. The frequency response of the player spans from 4 Hz to 20 kHz with a minimal distortion factor of less than 0.002%. The dynamic range exceeds 100 dB, and the signal-to-noise ratio is more than 120 dB, ensuring high-quality sound reproduction. While CD-Text and MP3 support are absent, the device does offer shuffle and title programming capabilities for up to 32 titles. It can also play CD-R and CD-RW formats. Notable features include digital output level control via remote and an adaptive digital filter known as the D.R.I.V.E system, as well as a switchable display and CD peak search function.
