M-C5100

The Mitsubishi M-C5100 series is a collection of CVD coated carbide grades specifically designed for turning applications on cast iron. Launched on October 12, 2022, this series comprises three grades, MC5105, MC5115, and MC5125, each formulated to meet diverse machining demands. The MC5105 grade is engineered for high-speed machining of gray cast iron and can operate efficiently at cutting speeds up to 1000 m/min, demonstrating exceptional wear resistance. The MC5115, with a focus on ductile cast iron, minimizes abnormal cutting edge wear, producing both wear and fracture resistance. Finally, the MC5125 offers remarkable stability and fracture resistance during heavily interrupted cutting of high-strength ductile cast iron, thanks to its specialized TiCN layer and advanced microstructure in the intermediate layer. All grades are enhanced with 'Super' nano-texture technology, providing superior crystal orientation control of the Al₂O₃ coating layer, making them suitable for various machining operations.
