Alice Cooper Band Announces Historic Album Release After Half-Century

23 April 2025 by Mike Danyk

The original lineup of the Alice Cooper Band is making a highly anticipated return to the studio after a half-century hiatus, embarking on the creation of their first collaborative album since 1973’s Muscle of Love. The forthcoming album, titled The Revenge of Alice Cooper, is set to be released on July 25, 2025, under the earMusic label. Esteemed producer Bob Ezrin, renowned for his work on seminal albums such as Love It to Death, Killer, School's Out, and Billion Dollar Babies, is at the helm of the project, promising a revival of the classic sound that defined the band’s early success.

Reuniting for this landmark recording are guitarist Michael Bruce, bassist Dennis Dunaway, and drummer Neal Smith, alongside Nashville guitarist Gyasi Hues. The album also pays homage to Glen Buxton, the original guitarist who passed away in 1997, with the track "What Happened to You" featuring a riff from an old Dunaway/Buxton demo. Additionally, the limited edition of the album includes a remix of "Return Of The Spiders" from the 1971 album Easy Action, further bridging the new material with the band’s illustrious past.

Bob Ezrin has remarked on the seamless chemistry among the band members, noting that despite the passage of time, their interactions evoke the camaraderie of their youth. "When we all gather, it feels like picking up right where we left off," Ezrin shared, highlighting the band’s ability to blend maturity with the raw energy of their early days. This dynamic is expected to resonate through the album’s diverse tracklist, which includes titles like "Crap That Gets In The Way Of Your Dreams," "Famous Face," and "Inter Galactic Vagabond Blues."

Fans can look forward to a comprehensive listening experience that melds nostalgic elements with contemporary production techniques. The album’s technical prowess is evident in its intricate guitar work, robust bass lines, and powerful drumming, all of which pay tribute to the band's legacy while pushing creative boundaries. The inclusion of bonus tracks, such as "Return of the Spiders 2025," offers a tantalizing glimpse into the band’s enduring influence on the rock genre.

In addition to the album release, Alice Cooper is scheduled to perform alongside the Scorpions in Hannover on July 5, marking a significant milestone as the band revisits the stage after decades. This reunion not only celebrates the enduring legacy of Alice Cooper and his bandmates but also sets the stage for a new chapter in their storied career, much to the excitement of audiophiles and rock enthusiasts alike.
