Input modules

The Octave Phono Module and the Octave HP 700 (SE) preamplifier showcase the adaptability of high-end audio systems by offering a selection of detachable input modules that can be tailored to meet the preferences of audiophiles. This versatility allows for a custom-fit audio experience, whether the listener prefers electronic high-level inputs, moving coil (MC) inputs, or transformer technology for phono inputs.

The phono input modules are designed to accommodate a range of user needs. For example, the Phono Input Module IN 1 is geared towards MM pickup cartridge systems and offers two selectable input resistances, 47 kohms and 1 kohm, to suit various setups. It has an input sensitivity ranging from 3 to 5 mV, with a gain factor of 38 dB. The module's signal-to-noise ratio is 77 dB for broadband and 94 dB at 1 kHz, providing clean and precise audio reproduction.

For MC systems, the Phono Input Module IN 2 allows audiophiles to switch between two amplifier levels, with input resistances adjustable from 62 to 1000 ohms. This module has an input sensitivity of 0.1 to 1 mV and offers two gain levels: 65 dB for high gain and 58 dB for low gain. The signal-to-noise ratio is 69 dB for high gain and -75 dB for low gain, ensuring high-quality sound with minimal interference.

The Phono Input Module IN 3 takes the audio experience to a balanced level with XLR MC inputs. Like the IN 2, this module can be switched between two levels of gain, with input impedance options ranging from 60 to 1000 ohms, providing maximum flexibility and fidelity. This suite of input modules empowers users to configure their audio systems precisely according to their specific requirements and preferences, highlighting a commitment to superior sound quality and detailed music reproduction.
