The Ortofon Century turntable, developed by Ortofon and Pro-Ject, presents a unique combination of style and functionality. It features a striking piano black chassis paired with a silver aluminum sub-chassis, enhancing its aesthetic appeal. This exclusive jubilee model is built on The Classic SB platform but incorporates enhancements for improved performance. A hallmark feature is the built-in electronic speed control, allowing effortless switching between 33.3 and 45 RPM by simply pressing a button. Additionally, for collectors of 78 RPM shellac records, the turntable can easily accommodate these by manually repositioning the drive belt. The turntable is pre-equipped with the Ortofon Concorde Century cartridge, valued at $700. Other notable components include a top-grade clamp, leather mat, adjustable decoupling feet, and a precision balanced aluminum platter damped with TPE. The 9-inch aluminum S-shape tonearm is designed for SME compatibility and includes features such as azimuth and VTA adjustments, ultra-low friction Zircon pin-point cardan bearings, and a central vertical cable outlet, offering remarkable sound quality and ease of use.
