The Sony TA-F 808 ES is an integrated amplifier produced between 1993 and 1994, showcasing a robust design and high-quality audio performance. This model is crafted in Japan and features a sleek aesthetic available in black or champagne finishes. The amplifier includes a remote control (RM-S 703) for convenient operation. It has a power consumption rating of 390 W and dimensions of 470 x 175 x 435 mm, weighing in at 24.6 kg. At launch, it was priced at 2,500 DM for the black version and 2,600 DM for the champagne version. 

In terms of connectivity, the TA-F 808 ES provides a total of six line inputs, one direct input, and one phono input suitable for MM and MC cartridges (with 40 Ohm and 3 Ohm load options). It also includes an adaptor in/out which can serve as an additional high-level input. The amplifier supports multiple output options including one pre-out, one adaptor out, and connections for two pairs of loudspeakers (A+B). 

The technical specifications reveal continuous power output of 120 W per channel at 8 Ohms and 170 W at 4 Ohms (RMS 20Hz - 20kHz). When measured at 1 kHz, the DIN power output increases to 135 W and 200 W at 8 and 4 Ohms respectively. The amplifier exhibits low total harmonic distortion, rated at 0.004%, and a high signal-to-noise ratio of 105 dB for line inputs. Frequency response ranges from 2 Hz to 200 kHz, ensuring a wide bandwidth for audio reproduction. 

Additional features include tone controls for bass (+/- 7 dB) and treble (+/- 6 dB), as well as various filters for optimized sound output. The TA-F 808 ES employs high-quality construction elements such as a Gibraltar chassis and roof, along with gold-plated RCA jacks and brass speaker terminals, enhancing durability and audio quality. This amplifier series includes other models such as the TA-F 505 ES, TA-F 606 ES, and TA-F 707 ES, but the 808 ES stands out for its refined component placement and dual power supply.
