The Sony TC-KE 300 is a cassette tape deck manufactured between 1996 and 2001. It features a compact design with dimensions of 430 mm × 120 mm × 278 mm (W × H × D) and weighs 3.5 kg. Available in black and silver, it has a power consumption of 19 W and was originally priced at approximately 349 DM. The TC-KE 300 utilizes two heads: one for recording/playback (SD head) and one for erasing (F&F head), and is driven by two motors, including a DC servo capstan motor and a DC coil motor. It has an impressive signal-to-noise ratio of 55 dB for Type I cassettes, 57 dB for Type II, and 58 dB for Type IV cassettes. Utilizing Dolby noise reduction systems, the device can improve signal-to-noise ratios further, providing enhanced audio clarity. The frequency response is quite broad, with Type I cassettes covering 30-15,000 Hz, Type II extending to 30-16,000 Hz, and Type IV reaching up to 30-18,000 Hz. It supports RCA line inputs and outputs, with a nominal output level of 0.5 V. The tape deck also provides headphone output with a power rating of 0.25 mW at 32 Ohms and can rewind a C-60 cassette in approximately 90 seconds. Its internal mechanics and design are similar to other models in the TC-K series.
