The Leak Sandwich 200 is a compact loudspeaker designed and manufactured by H. J. Leak & Co. and was introduced in the early 1960s. This innovative model features a unique sandwich cone driver composed of expanded polystyrene foam sandwiched between two sheets of aluminium foil, resulting in a lightweight yet rigid design that enhances sound accuracy. The speaker employs a 200 mm (8 in) sandwich cone woofer along with two 60 mm (2.4 in) Mylar coned elements, serving as a midrange and a tweeter, which collectively contribute to a well-rounded audio performance. It is designed to work efficiently with transistorized amplifiers and has an impedance rating of 4 to 8 Ohms, providing a power handling capacity of 18 watts. The design's success lies in its smaller dimensions while still delivering remarkable sound quality that satisfied both commercial and critical audiences during its production years.
