The DS-001 is a highly versatile and compact audiophile Class D power amplifier, delivering a remarkable 200W of power. Despite its modest dimensions of just 130×215×41 mm, this device is a powerhouse, boasting exceptional audio performance that challenges larger Class A analogue designs. Its robust construction ensures both reliability and outstanding audio quality, making it perfect for critical monitoring applications. The DS-001 exhibits remarkable transparency and resolution, making it suitable for various setups including free standing, rack mounted, wall mounted, or speaker mounted configurations. This flexibility is especially advantageous in surround sound systems or when console mounted.

The power amplifier operates with an intelligent single feedback loop circuit, guaranteeing a flat frequency response under varying loads. This feature not only optimizes sound output but also maintains a minimal output impedance. The DS-001 is designed for efficiency, achieving a 92% energy efficiency rate which reduces current usage significantly. Both its power supply and amplifier maintain low levels of electromagnetic interference, making it ideal for environments that require minimal noise.

The unit comes with a range of features, including over-current protection and large electrolytic buffer capacitors, ensuring both safety and dynamic headroom. It is available for operation at either 230v or 115v and uses Neutrik® SpeakON NL4 series for loudspeaker connections. The audio input is balanced via XLR, with gain adjustments accessible on the unit's front panel.

Additionally, the DS-001 serves as a significant upgrade to the new DB1S-A II and TB2S-A II compact ATL™ nearfield monitors. By increasing output from 100W to 200W, it enhances audio performance, delivering cleaner and more neutral sound across the frequency spectrum. When paired with PMC’s ATL™ bass loading system, the DS-001 ensures an accurate frequency response, making it an indispensable tool for audio professionals.

Technical specifications include an input impedance of 47k, input sensitivity of 0.4 vrms for a rated 200W into 8 ohms, a maximum power output of 200W, total harmonic distortion (THD) of 0.05% at 20Hz, and a signal-to-noise ratio of 110dB referenced to 200W. Volume adjustment ranges from a minimum of 17dB to a maximum of 33dB, with idle power consumption around 15W. Connections are facilitated by an IEC 3-pole mains connection. Upon purchase, registering the product within 10 days allows for a 20-year warranty, subject to terms and conditions.
