The IB2i is meticulously crafted as a three-way, high-resolution reference monitor known for its phenomenal dynamics, resolution, and transparency. This exceptional performance is largely due to its front-vented ATL™ (Advanced Transmission Line) design. The initial goal was to create a three-way monitor that embodies the transparency and dynamics characteristic of larger models, yet in a compact and powerful form. The IB2i achieves this goal gracefully, establishing itself as a staple in professional studios around the world.

Renowned in the professional studio landscape, the IB2i serves as a reference monitor for some of the world’s leading music producers and makers. Esteemed institutions like Teldex of Berlin, which records for the classical label Deutsche Grammophon, Kraftwerk, and Japan’s premier studio, JVC, are among its users. It features an extremely condensed ATL™, an i series tweeter, PMC’s acclaimed 75mm soft dome mid-range, and a unique carbon fibre and Nomex® ten-inch piston driver. This sophisticated configuration delivers a natural and refined tonal balance, effectively filling medium to larger rooms with unmatched audio clarity.

In all large i series models, including the IB2i, the three precision drivers are seamlessly integrated using an expertly engineered 24dB per octave crossover network. Every component is rigorously tested, recorded, matched, and hand-soldered to adhere to the highest standards of quality. This meticulous attention to detail allows the IB2i to handle immense power and deliver an unrestricted dynamic range. Additionally, matching horizontal center speakers (IB2-C) and sub-bass units (SB100) partner seamlessly with the IB2i, presenting an unparalleled surround sound experience. The IB2i also comes with its own bespoke, pre-tuned designer stands.
