Currently run by Peter Kao (Tachikawa's nephew), the company has built a 60+ year reputation for quality, reliability, and exceptional sound reproduction in the hi-fi market. As of March 2025, Rotel transitioned to direct U.S. distribution through Clear Wave Ventures LLC, ending their partnership with Fine Sounds Americas/McIntosh Group, while maintaining their independent family ownership structure.
