The CD-S1.2, as the successor to the CD-S1.1, introduces enhanced capabilities with the ability to process external digital signals using optical, coaxial, or USB inputs. This new feature expands the versatility of the CD player, making it compatible with various digital audio sources. The digital signals are expertly converted through the Burr-Brown PCM 1796 chip, known for its precision and accuracy in digital-to-analog conversion. After conversion, the signal passes through the analog section, where it is shaped and refined by two 6N16 tubes. These tubes are key to producing a homogeneous and distinctive sound, ensuring that the CD-S1.2 delivers a warm and enveloping audio experience that builds on the well-regarded foundation laid by its predecessor.
