The Mission 770 is a modern recreation of the classic speaker that first emerged in the 1970s, designed to blend vintage aesthetics with contemporary audio technology. The new 770 maintains the iconic two-way design, featuring a 200mm mineral-loaded polypropylene mid/bass driver and a 28mm microfibre dome tweeter, offering a frequency response of 42Hz to 20kHz (+/-3dB). The cabinet dimensions are 590mm x 300mm x 322mm, with a weight of 19.2kg, providing a robust structure that helps minimize resonance. The speaker is engineered with a new bass reflex port designed to enhance airflow and reduce distortion. The crossover design has been refined for improved sound quality, using high-quality components like polypropylene capacitors and air-cored inductors. The aesthetic includes real wood veneers in walnut or black, complemented by a white laminated front baffle. Overall, the Mission 770 aims to deliver engaging sound performance, characterized by an open midband and dynamic bass response.
