The Onkyo TA-600 is a stereo cassette tape deck that was manufactured between 1978 and 1980. It is designed to enhance basic performance while incorporating various advanced features for an improved user experience. The TA-600 is equipped with a hard WIDEX head made from durable material, which provides approximately ten times more abrasion resistance than traditional permalloy heads. This head type is shielded to reduce the effects of external magnetic fields. The machine employs a DC servo motor, which automatically manages the rotational speed through electronic controls. Users can also benefit from a timer standby feature, allowing automatic recordings and alarm clock playback when paired with an optional timer.
